Description

Makeup can be just as important to your performance as your choreography and costume. It can help set the mood and tone, reflect the character you are about to portray, and get you in the mindset of the piece you are setting out to perform. Not sure where to start? Step inside my parlor. Some workshops teach a new, specific look for you to play around with. This isn't exactly that. Yes, there will be practical makeup application involved. But instead of working on a specific look for everyone, we'll take a look into how to find inspiration for makeup looks to complete your performance, and how to bring those looks to life. From the subtle colors of a crow's wings to portraying a shattered mind, all concepts can take physical form with makeup. You will need your favorite makeup palette(s) or eyeshadows, plus applicators or brushes. I will be using mostly Colourpop palettes and Sugarpill single eyeshadows. If you are completely new to the world of makeup (Welcome!), both Morphe and Colourpop have good palettes that are inexpensive but are good quality, and are available online. Recorded live at the Descent 2020.
